HGM Micro-Powder Grinding Mill: High-Efficiency Ultrafine Powder Processing

The HGM micro-powder grinding mill (also known as an ultrafine grinding mill) is an advanced, heavy-duty pulverizing system designed for processing non-flammable, non-explosive, and brittle minerals with Mohs hardness below 6. Utilizing high-pressure spring boosting technology and an innovative multi-tier grinding roller mechanism, the mill efficiently transforms raw stone materials into micron-level fine powder ranging from 80 to 2500 mesh (5–45 μm), with select models capable of reaching up to 3000 mesh.

A complete HGM ultrafine grinding plant is configured as a fully automated, continuous production line. Raw materials are pre-crushed by a hammer crusher and elevated to a storage hopper, then uniformly fed into the main grinding chamber via an electromagnetic vibrating feeder. Inside the main mill, materials undergo three-layer progressive rolling, shearing, and grinding. The pulverized powder is lifted by high-pressure airflow into a dynamic turbine classifier for instant particle sorting, while the finished fine powder is captured by a high-efficiency cyclone powder collector and a pulse dust cleaner.

Engineered for superior versatility and environmental compliance, the HGM micro-powder mill serves as core equipment for processing over 100 non-metallic minerals, including limestone, calcite, bentonite, barite, talc, feldspar, dolomite, kaolin, and gypsum. Operating under a fully enclosed dry process with minimal energy consumption and strict dust control (dust emissions below 20 mg/m³), it delivers exceptional economic and industrial value for applications in high-grade building fillers, paper coatings, plastics, dry mortars, and advanced energy materials.

Complete Ultrafine Grinding Line Configuration

To ensure seamless, continuous operation, a complete HGM ultrafine grinding plant integrates heavy-duty crushing, conveying, grinding, dynamic classification, and eco-friendly dust collection:

  • Crushing & Feeding System: Hammer crusher, bucket elevator, storage hopper, and electromagnetic vibrating feeder with sloping feed pipe.

  • Main Grinding & Classifying Unit: Main mill (equipped with multi-layer grinding rollers and rings), turbine classifier, and high-pressure blower.

  • Powder Collection & Eco System: Cyclone powder collector, pulse dust cleaner, muffler, and sound-proof room for noise suppression.

Working Principle of HGM Micro-Powder Grinding Mill

1: Material Pre-Crushing & Automatic Feeding

Raw materials are pre-crushed into small particles by a hammer crusher and lifted to the storage hopper via a bucket elevator. An electromagnetic vibrating feeder then continuously and evenly delivers the materials into the main grinding chamber.

2: Three-Ring Centrifugal Layered Grinding

The main motor drives multi-layer rollers to rotate within ring channels at high speed. Under strong centrifugal force, materials fall through three successive grinding tiers, undergoing repeated rolling, shearing, and friction until reduced to micron-level fineness.

3: High-Pressure Airflow Classification

A high-pressure blower draws air into the grinding chamber, lifting ground particles up to the dynamic turbine classifier. High-speed classifier wheels reject oversized particles back to the mill for regrinding, while qualified fine powder passes through with the airflow.

4: Cyclone Collection & Dust Purification

Over 90% of the finished powder is captured by the cyclone collector and discharged through the bottom valve. The remaining fine dust is filtered by a pulse dust collector before clean air is safely discharged through the muffler.

Common Problems

This section is designed to address the most pressing inquiries customers may have regarding the daily operation, maintenance, product advantages, and after-sales service of our machine. Our aim is to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of our overall capabilities and enable you to make informed decisions for your projects.

The HGM mill is specifically engineered for non-flammable, non-explosive, and brittle minerals with Mohs hardness below 6. Common applications include limestone, calcite, bentonite, barite, talc, feldspar, dolomite, kaolin, gypsum, and graphite, serving over 100 industrial mineral types.

The HGM mill delivers finished powder fineness ranging from 80 to 2500 mesh (5–45 μm), with select configurations capable of reaching up to 3000 mesh. Fineness is easily controlled using a variable-frequency dynamic turbine classifier, allowing real-time speed adjustments without stopping the machine

Depending on the machine model and target material fineness, production capacity ranges from 0.2 to 20 tons per hour. Thanks to its three-ring layered rolling design, unit energy consumption is only 50–80 kW·h/ton, cutting electricity costs by up to 40% compared to traditional ball mills.

The mill operates as a fully enclosed dry process integrated with a pulse dust collector and a sound-proof room. It maintains operational noise under 85 dB and keeps dust emission concentrations below 20 mg/m³, easily passing strict environmental impact assessments.

The grinding rollers and grinding rings are manufactured from high-chromium wear-resistant alloy, providing a service life exceeding 8,000 operational hours. Thanks to the modular structural design, wear parts can be replaced within 2 hours, minimizing maintenance downtime

The intelligent hydraulic adaptive system provides real-time pressure monitoring and automatic overload protection. It automatically adjusts the gap between grinding rollers according to material hardness, preventing motor overload and reducing equipment failure rates by up to 70%.

A turnkey plant includes the main grinding unit, turbine classifier, high-pressure blower, cyclone powder collector, pulse dust cleaner, muffler, hammer crusher, bucket elevator, storage hopper, and electromagnetic vibrating feeder.

Yes. The three-ring layered crushing system produces ultra-fine particles with exceptional particle size uniformity and roundness. The output is widely used in high-precision markets such as plastic masterbatches, paper coatings, rubber fillers, dry-mix mortars, and lithium battery graphite.
