PC Hammer Crusher: Product Description

PC hammer crusher is a high-speed impact crusher built for medium-hard and brittle materials. It takes feed up to 400 mm and reduces it below 15 mm in one pass. Four models cover 5 to 75 t/h with 11 to 110 kW drives.

The motor turns the rotor through a V-belt, and the hammers strike the material as it enters the crushing chamber. Rock breaks along natural cracks, bedding planes and joint surfaces instead of being squeezed. The grate bar gap under the rotor is adjustable, so the discharge size follows your downstream equipment. The rotor is one-piece cast steel and the hammers are replaceable wear parts.

It crushes limestone, gypsum, coal gangue, blast furnace slag and construction waste such as waste concrete blocks, bricks and tiles. Compressive strength should stay under 150 MPa and moisture under 15%. Typical users are cement plants, sand and gravel aggregate lines, mines, chemical and power plants, metallurgy and industrial waste treatment.

It is not the right machine for high-hardness rock such as granite, or for wet and sticky feed. Both cause severe hammer wear and screen blockage. Send your feed size, material type and target output for a matched model and a line layout.

PC Hammer Crusher

Big Crushing Ratio, One Stage

Hammers strike at high speed and break stone along natural cracks and joints, so one pass cuts rock to under 15 mm.

PC Hammer Crusher

Adjustable Grate Bar Gap

The grate bar gap under the rotor is adjustable. Set the gap to match your downstream mill and the discharge size follows.

PC Hammer Crusher

One-Piece Cast Steel Rotor

The rotor is one cast steel body, not a welded assembly. It holds alignment under impact and gives the hammers a stable base.

PC Hammer Crusher

Replaceable Wear Hammers

Hammers are replaceable wear parts. Swap them without dismantling the machine, so maintenance takes hours.

PC Hammer Crusher

Low Energy per Ton Crushed

Impact crushing uses less energy per ton than compression on soft to medium-hard stone, so power cost drops.

PC Hammer Crusher: 3 Reasons to Choose

Buyers compare crushing ratio, wear cost, discharge control and maintenance time when they choose a hammer crusher. Four models cover 5 to 75 t/h. Here is what sets the PC series apart.

One Stage Replaces Two Crushers

A single rotor reduces 400 mm feed to under 15 mm, a ratio that usually needs a jaw crusher plus an impact crusher. One machine means fewer drives, less foundation work and a shorter layout on site. On soft to medium-hard stone, one stage replaces the whole secondary crushing step and its wear parts.

Hammers Change in Hours

Hammers and grate bars sit on a one-piece cast steel rotor and are replaceable wear parts. Crews swap them without dismantling the machine, so planned downtime stays short and the crusher is back in service the same day. Liners and screens come out through the same openings.

Less Power per Ton Crushed

Impact crushing uses less energy than compression on soft to medium-hard stone, so a PC hammer crusher gives a cubic product at lower power cost than a jaw and impact set. On limestone, gypsum and coal gangue lines, that shows up as a smaller drive and a lower power bill over the year.

How the PC Hammer Crusher Works

The motor drives the rotor through a V-belt. The rotor turns at high speed inside the crushing chamber, and hammers fixed on the rotor disc strike the material as it falls through the feed opening.

The hammers break the material along natural cracks, bedding planes and joint surfaces. Broken pieces gain kinetic energy and are thrown at high speed against the crushing plate and the grate bars, where they break again.

Material smaller than the grate gap drops out as finished product. Oversize pieces stay in the chamber and are hit again until they are small enough to pass. The grate bar gap is adjustable, so the discharge size is set to match the downstream mill or screen.

The circuit is simple: feed opening, crushing chamber, rotor and hammers, crushing plate, grate bars, discharge. A single rotor takes feed up to 400 mm and reduces it below 15 mm in one pass, which is why one PC hammer crusher often replaces a jaw crusher plus an impact crusher on soft to medium-hard stone.

Wear concentrates on the hammers, grate bars and chamber liners. All three are replaceable, and the rotor is a one-piece cast steel body that holds alignment under impact.

Power runs from 11 kW on PC400x300 to 110 kW on PC1000x800, and capacity from 5 to 75 tons per hour. Compressive strength stays under 150 MPa and moisture under 15%, which keeps the chamber from clogging.

Common Problems

This section is designed to address the most pressing inquiries customers may have regarding the daily operation, maintenance, product advantages, and after-sales service of our machine. Our aim is to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of our overall capabilities and enable you to make informed decisions for your projects.

It crushes medium-hard and brittle materials with compressive strength under 150 MPa and moisture under 15%: limestone, gypsum, coal gangue, blast furnace slag and construction waste such as waste concrete blocks, bricks and tiles. It is not suitable for high-hardness rock such as granite, or for wet and sticky feed.

Yes. The grate bar gap under the rotor is adjustable, so the discharge particle size can be set to match downstream equipment. Standard models produce material under 15 mm. The gap is set during commissioning against your aggregate or grinding feed spec.

Match the model to your maximum feed size and target output. PC400x300 takes feed under 100 mm at 5 to 10 t/h with an 11 kW drive. PC600x400 takes under 220 mm at 10 to 25 t/h. PC800x600 takes under 350 mm at 20 to 40 t/h. PC1000x800 takes under 400 mm at 25 to 80 t/h with 110 kW.

A jaw crusher uses compression and handles harder rock and larger feed as a primary crusher. A hammer crusher uses high-speed impact and gives a bigger crushing ratio in one stage, producing a finer and more cubic product. On soft to medium-hard stone it can replace a jaw plus impact setup. For granite or basalt, a jaw or cone crusher is the better choice.

Both use impact. A hammer crusher swings free hammers on a rotor and relies on the hammers, the crushing plate and the grate bars. An impact crusher uses fixed blow bars and is built for harder, more abrasive rock. Hammer crushers are usually cheaper to run on limestone, gypsum and coal gangue.

Hammer life depends on material abrasiveness, moisture and feed size. Check hammer wear and the grate gap on a fixed schedule. When the product gets coarser or output drops, rotate or replace the hammers. They are replaceable wear parts, so the swap takes hours and the rotor stays in place.

No. Feed moisture should stay under 15%. Wet and sticky material blocks the grate bars and builds up in the chamber, which cuts output and raises hammer wear. For damp feed, dry it first or choose a machine designed for sticky material.

Price depends on the model, drive power and whether you need a complete crushing line. We quote per project, so send your material, maximum feed size and target output for a factory price and a free layout design.
