TS Series High-Efficiency Vortex Powder Separator: Overview & Specifications

The TS Series High-Efficiency Vortex Powder Separator represents the next generation of dynamic powder classification technology, specifically engineered for modern eco-friendly milling circuits, manufactured sand production lines, fly ash processing, and ultrafine mineral processing. By seamlessly integrating an internal air circulation loop, a rotor-forced vortex classification mechanism, and an advanced multi-stage air scavenging system, the TS Series sets a higher performance benchmark for particle size control, material uniformity, and separation efficiency.

Unlike traditional external-circulation powder classifiers—such as the T-Sepax series, which typically demand massive external dust collectors, extensive piping networks, and substantial civil engineering footprints—the TS Series incorporates an internal cyclone collection mechanism and circulation fan within a unified, compact structure. This streamlined configuration drastically reduces overall plant layout requirements, minimizes system air leakage, and optimizes aerodynamic resistance. As a result, it significantly lowers operational power consumption while delivering a clean, dust-free production environment—making it the ideal choice for both newly built high-efficiency processing lines and space-constrained plant retrofits.

How Does the TS Series High-Efficiency Powder Separator Work?

The TS Series High-Efficiency Vortex Powder Separator achieves high-precision material separation through a multi-stage process combining centrifugal force, aerodynamic drag, and forced vortex air flows:

  1. Top Feeding & Centrifugal Dispersion:

Raw material enters through the top inlet and falls onto a high-speed scattering plate, where centrifugal force disperses it uniformly outward into a dense material curtain within the classification chamber.

  2. Forced Vortex Classification:

As the material enters the annular zone between the guide vanes and the cage rotor, it encounters a rotating airflow. Larger, heavier coarse particles are thrown outward by centrifugal force and drop into the coarse collecting cone, while fine particles are drawn inward through the rotor blades by aerodynamic drag.

  3. Multi-Stage Air Sweeping:

Coarse particles falling down undergo bottom air sweeping to wash out any trapped fines. These entrained fines are carried back up into the rotor zone for re-classification, ensuring zero fine powder is wasted in the coarse discharge.

  4. Internal Cyclone Collection:

The fine particles passing through the rotor enter the built-in cyclone collectors, settle into the fine powder cone as the finished product, and the cleaned air recirculates back through the internal system.

Common Problems

This section is designed to address the most pressing inquiries customers may have regarding the daily operation, maintenance, product advantages, and after-sales service of our machine. Our aim is to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of our overall capabilities and enable you to make informed decisions for your projects.

The TS Series is primarily designed for high-precision particle size separation and powder classification in industries such as manufactured sand production lines (to control stone powder content at 3%–7%), fly ash grading (separating Grade I and II ash), non-metallic mineral processing (calcium carbonate, gypsum, talc), and closed-circuit grinding systems with ball mills or roller mills.

Unlike the traditional T-Sepax series which requires an external dust collector and complex ductwork (external circulation), the TS Series features an integrated internal air circulation loop with a built-in cyclone collector and fan. This compact design significantly reduces the installation footprint, lowers air leakage rates, and makes it ideal for space-constrained plant upgrades.

To withstand abrasive materials like manufactured sand, slag, and mineral powders, critical wearing components—including rotor blades, spreading discs, and internal liners—are extensively reinforced with high-chromium wear-resistant alloys or embedded industrial ceramics. This extends the service life of key parts by 3 to 5 times compared to standard materials.

The TS Series utilizes an advanced variable-frequency drive (VFD) stepless speed control system. Operators can precisely and dynamically adjust the rotor speed from the control panel to achieve a wide range of product fineness (typically from 80 to 325 mesh, or specific fly ash grades) to meet diverse industrial requirements.

Thanks to the combination of a rotor-forced vortex classification mechanism and a multi-stage bottom air-sweeping (triple classification) system, the TS Series achieves a separation efficiency of over 85%. The multi-pass air sweeping ensures that falling coarse fractions are completely scrubbed of trapped fine particles.

In most standard configurations, no. Because of its built-in high-efficiency cyclone collection system and internal circulating fan, the TS Series operates independently without needing massive external bag filters or bulky piping networks, drastically reducing civil engineering and installation costs.

In manufactured sand production, the TS Series utilizes precise centrifugal and aerodynamic drag forces to accurately remove excess ultra-fine stone dust. It maintains the stone powder content within the optimal standard range of 3% to 7% and effectively regulates the sand's MB (Methylene Blue) value, ensuring high-grade concrete aggregate quality.

Routine maintenance is minimal due to the heavy-duty wear-resistant design. Operators should regularly inspect the VFD motor drive, check the sealing status of the multi-interlocking air valves, and monitor the condition of the ceramic-lined rotor blades and internal liners during scheduled plant shutdowns.
