High-Efficiency Flotation Machine for Mineral Processing

Flotation machine is a novelly structured self-priming flotation machine. It has advantages of horizontal configuration, midding foam self-returning, air self-priming,etc. Besides, It also has advantage of low consumption, large inflow velocity, strong ability of inhaling pulp, low speed of impeller line, large gap between impeller and plate, tiny abrasion, long using cyclicality of wear-out parts compared with other flotation machines. The consumption is lower, inflow velocity is larger and the surface of ore solution is more steady than flotation machines. flotation machines are widely used for roughing, selecting and anti-flotating the non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals and non-metallic minerals such as copper, aluminum, zinc, nickel, molybdenum, gold, silver, sulphur, phosphorus, etc.

Flotation Machine

High Capacity, Low Power

Flotation machine features an optimized design that ensures high pulp inflow velocity and maximum throughput while significantly reducing power consumption.

Flotation Machine

Independent Self-Priming

Each flotation cell independently handles air self-priming, pulp self-priming, and flotation. This modular design allows a flexible horizontal layout without extra foam pumps.

Flotation Machine

Enhanced Coarse Recovery

The advanced bottom slurry circulation keeps heavy particles suspended, preventing sedimentation and dramatically improving the recovery rate of coarse minerals.

Flotation Machine

Flexible Level Control

This froth flotation equipment supports reliable manual control alongside optional automation, allowing operators to easily adjust the pulp level and froth thickness.

Flotation Machine

Thorough Mixing Impeller

The wear-resistant impeller generates strong bottom circulation, ensuring thorough mixing of air and reagents to maximize the mineral flotation separator's efficiency.

Why choose Zhongxin Heavy Industry's flotation cell for your mineral processing plant?

Large Air Absorption Capacity: The unique impeller system ensures low power consumption while maximizing air inhalation and dispersion.

Excellent Pulp Circulation: Optimized cell structure avoids sand sedimentation and extends the service life of wear parts.

Automatic Control System: Equipped with advanced pulp level adjusters and electric control systems for easy operation.

Wear-Resistant Components: Impellers and stators are lined with high-quality polyurethane or rubber, reducing maintenance costs.

Customized Configurations: We provide self-aspirating flotation machines (SF, BF series) and external air-supply flotation cells (XJK series) to match your specific flow chart.

Maintenance & Lubrication Guidelines for Flotation Equipment

Proper lubrication is essential to extend the lifespan of your industrial flotation machine and ensure smooth operation.

Main Bearing Lubrication: The main bearing requires calcium-based grease. Lubricant should be added twice per shift to maintain optimal bearing performance.

Gearbox (Reducer) Lubrication: The speed reducer utilizes 45# gear oil for bath lubrication. A complete oil change must be performed every six months.

How Does the Froth Flotation Equipment Work?

When the electric motor drives the main spindle to rotate, the high-speed centrifugal force throws the mineral slurry out of the impeller cavity. This rapid displacement of pulp creates a powerful, continuous negative pressure (vacuum zone) inside the impeller chamber. Under the effect of this pressure differential:

Air Inhalation & Pulp Suction: Ambient air is automatically inhaled through the air admission pipe, while the mineral slurry at the bottom is simultaneously drawn into the core of the impeller through the center hole of the impeller cone.

Intensive Mixing & Dispersion: Once inside the impeller cavity, the inhaled air and incoming slurry are intensely sheared and mixed. The resulting highly aerated mixture is then expelled at high velocity through the specialized passages between the flat plate and the impeller blades.

Active Flotation Zone: Upon discharge, the micro-bubbles and a portion of the mineralized slurry rise toward the upper part of the flotation cell to participate in the actual froth flotation and separation process.

Continuous Under-Circulation (Preventing Sedimentation): Crucially, the remaining mineral slurry moves downward toward the bottom of the flotation tank. Driven by the continuous suction of the impeller, this slurry is drawn back into the impeller cavity for a second circulation loop. This powerful under-circulation of mine slurry is highly beneficial for the flotation of heavy, coarse mineral particles, keeping them actively suspended and minimizing the risk of grit or coarse sand settling at the bottom of the flotation cell.

Common Problems

This section is designed to address the most pressing inquiries customers may have regarding the daily operation, maintenance, product advantages, and after-sales service of our machine. Our aim is to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of our overall capabilities and enable you to make informed decisions for your projects.

Precise installation ensures the high sorting efficiency of the mineral flotation separator. Please follow these setup standards: 1.Spindle Verticality: After installing the impeller structure, verify that the main spindle is perfectly vertical. 2.Clearance & Gaps: During assembly, ensure the axial gap between the impeller and the cover plate is maintained at 3–5 mm, with a radial clearance of 11 mm. 3.Horizontal Alignment: The overflow weir board and drive shaft must remain strictly horizontal and concentric, ensuring the regulating gate operates flexibly. 4.Cell Sealing: Ensure zero leakage at the bolted joints between individual flotation cells. Secure welding can be applied upon mutual agreement. 5.Commissioning: A test run is required post-installation to monitor bearing temperature and overall mechanical operational stability. 6.Water Test Run: Once the full froth flotation equipment set is installed, a standard dry run must be conducted first, followed by a continuous 8-hour wet test with the cells filled with water before entering full production.

Before starting the ore flotation machine, complete the following safety and operational checks: 1. Fasteners & Impeller: Inspect all structural bolts and ensure the impeller is securely tightened. 2. Belts & Flexibility: Check the V-belts and verify that the impeller rotates smoothly and flexibly. 3. Lubrication Systems: Verify all lubrication points are well-serviced and inspect the unit for any potential oil leaks. 4. Slurry Circulation: Inspect the internal channels to ensure unobstructed pulp and slurry circulation. 5. Adjustment Devices: Ensure the level adjusters and froth discharge mechanisms are flexible and stable. 6. Electrical & Motor: Confirm that the motor and electrical control facilities function reliably. 7. Safety Guards: Verify that all external rotating components are equipped with secure, steady protective shields.

It depends on your daily processing capacity (TPD), ore density, and flotation time required. Zhongxin engineers will design the exact layout based on your ore test report.

The impeller and the stator are the primary wear parts. We use high-wear-resistant rubber or polyurethane to double their lifespan compared to standard cast iron.

Flotation efficiency depends on several key variables: the particle size of the milled ore, pulp density (usually maintained between 25% to 35%), reagent dosage, pH value, and air flow rate. Zhongxin's froth flotation equipment features adjustable air valves and level regulators, allowing operators to easily fine-tune these parameters for maximum mineral recovery.

Yes, absolutely. For corrosive environments—such as copper or gold flotation using acidic reagents—we offer custom flotation separators equipped with stainless steel tanks, anti-corrosive linings, and high-performance polyurethane impellers to ensure long-term durability and lower maintenance costs.

Sedimentation is a common issue that causes premature wear. Our mineral flotation machine solves this through an optimized bottom structure and a high-efficiency impeller design. This combination generates a powerful, continuous bottom slurry circulation that keeps coarse and heavy minerals suspended uniformly within the cell.
