Maintenance & Lubrication Guidelines for Flotation Equipment 

Proper lubrication is essential to extend the lifespan of your industrial flotation machine and ensure smooth operation.

Main Bearing Lubrication: The main bearing requires calcium-based grease. Lubricant should be added twice per shift to maintain optimal bearing performance.

Gearbox (Reducer) Lubrication: The speed reducer utilizes 45# gear oil for bath lubrication. A complete oil change must be performed every six months.

How Does the Froth Flotation Equipment Work?

When the spindle rotates through motor drives impeller, the mine slurry in the impeller cavity throws around under the centrifugal force,which make negative pressure in the impeller cavity. Air is inhaled via admission pipe, meanwhile,the mine slurry under the impeller is inhaled through the center hole that in impeller cone, and mixed with air in impeller cavity, after that, the mine slurry is throwed around via the passage between the flat and the blade. 

The air and some of mine slurry move upper the flotation cell involved in flotating processing after throwed away from the passage between flat and blade.Besides, the other mine slurry moves at the bottom of flotation cell forming under circulating of mine slurry via suction from impeller and flow into impeller cavity for the second time.The existence of under circulating of mine slurry is good for flotating coarse particles of mineral and maximum reduce arenes settling at the bottom of flotation cell.

Please follow these setup standards: 1.Spindle Verticality: After installing the impeller structure, verify that the main spindle is perfectly vertical. 2.Clearance & Gaps: During assembly, ensure the axial gap between the impeller and the cover plate is maintained at 3–5 mm, with a radial clearance of 11 mm. 3.Horizontal Alignment: The overflow weir board and drive shaft must remain strictly horizontal and concentric, ensuring the regulating gate operates flexibly. 4.Cell Sealing: Ensure zero leakage at the bolted joints between individual flotation cells. Secure welding can be applied upon mutual agreement. 5.Commissioning: A test run is required post-installation to monitor bearing temperature and overall mechanical operational stability. 6.Water Test Run: Once the full froth flotation equipment set is installed, a standard dry run must be conducted first, followed by a continuous 8-hour wet test with the cells filled with water before entering full production.
